Product information
As silicon carbide refractories are non-plastic, a binder is required to form a solid product, making the binder’s properties and bonding form critical to product performance. Based on the bonding phase, they are mainly classified into oxide-bonded, nitride-bonded, and self-bonded/recrystallized types. These refractories are widely used in iron and steel metallurgy (e.g., blast furnace belly and tuyere linings), non-ferrous metallurgy (e.g., vertical zinc retorts and aluminum cells), environmental protection and chemical industries (e.g., waste incinerators, wear- and corrosion-resistant pipes), as well as ceramic and electronic industries (e.g., kiln furniture, thermocouple protection tubes). Current development focuses on compositing, functionalization, and refinement to meet customized requirements under extreme operating conditions.
